S.T.E.A.L is a fun little acronym about indirect characterization! It's super general, but when making characters I feel like some of the basics get lost in the momentous task of writing completing characters, so sometimes going back to the beginning is helpful.
Says: What the character says defines them.
Thinks: How the character thinks/feels about certain things.
Effects: What is the character's effect on others? What do other characters think about them?
Acts: How does the character act?
Looks: What does the character look like?
